Today we're shipping a bunch of updates to help you get fewer tickets in support, and many more customers reaching success.

Ferndesk Widgets

We've launched a beautiful, branded widget that you can embed in your app or website that'll allow your customers to self-serve without leaving your product.

  • Help customers find answers within your product

  • Display contextual guidance during onboarding and setup flows

The Ferndesk widget supports…

  • Natural language search: Customers can search your help center using everyday language.

  • Multiple display formats: Surface articles as

    • tooltips,

    • sidebars,

    • or modals—perfect for contextual help and customer onboarding

  • Custom branding: Change the styling, copy and even typography of the widget

  • Easy setup: Embed the widget with just one snippet

And we're just getting started. AI answers, advanced analytics, more ways to deflect tickets and more are currently in progress.

NOTE: if you're on the legacy version of our widget, you'll need to update it to take advantage of all the new features. We'll drop support for the old widget in early December.

Linear integration

Today we're launching the Ferndesk agent for Linear.

It lets you update your help center in seconds, right before you mark a task as done ✅

Simply @mention fern in Linear issues, tell her what needs to be done, and she'll take care of the rest.

Chrome extension

I don't know about you, but I HATE

  • reading my docs

  • realizing an article is outdated

  • then having to find it again in my editor to make changes 😬

So we shipped a Chrome extension that makes it super easy to jump to edit articles in one click.

Once you install it, the Ferndesk logo will show up as a floating button in your help center.

Other improvements

  • We've improved typography and content rendering in the help center and widget.

  • We've fixed bugs with internal linking in widgets.

  • Customers can now leave support requests directly from the Ferndesk widget.
