Decorating screenshots

When dealing with screenshots in complex UIs there’s always the conundrum of showing the entire screen for context and the action being hard to find or cropping the screen and losing important context.

We will therefore sometimes all overlays to screenshots like shown below. It’s annoying to do those in Figma, having to export, upload, etc.

It’d be amazing to be able to just draw a simple element over screenshots in Ferndesk. Ideally don’t even bake them into the image so they can inherit the brand color/style and can easily be updated throughout the entire helpdesk. You could just store the coordinates and size of the overlay elements with the image and then render the overlays with html. That could even make them interactive down the road! Lots of cool potential here!

On a related note it’d be nice to customize how the AI highlights things in screenshots. If there was a setting for screenshot annotation/overlays, the AI could perhaps also reference that when creating screenshots.
