Better UX for working with links in editor

In the editor, I can’t easily open a link attached to a text.

The current behavior in the editor:

1. I have to highlight first

2. Click link icon

3. Double table link to copy

4. Then open a new tab and paste

I would love something like this (from Featurebase’s comment editor), I just hover and it opens this up. I can then click it.
